Gardening in the Zombie Apocalypse

A virus has broken out and turned most of the human race into zombies. Gardeners were selectively saved, which scientists (who are also gardeners) believe has something to do with the protective microbes in the soil we gardeners love to play in.

This fun event was held October 24th, 2019, at the Citadel Theatre. Talented and funny speakers discussed how to garden and survive in this hypothetical future. There were zombie magpie stickers and gummy brains, and everyone had a great time.

You don’t have to reload an edger — Morgan Webb

Speakers:

  • Dustin Bajer is a permaculture expert who taught us about Morticulture, involving zombies helping out.
  • Morgan Webb (630 CHED Garden Radio Host) used his horticultural knowledge to share what plants and tools can be used to survive this zombie apocalypse.
  • Paul Zammit (Toronto Botanic Garden) is a designer who embraced his dark side to talk about the beauty of decomposition and brown in the garden.

Costumes were welcome but not required. There were some amazingly creepy zombies and stalwart gardeners in attendance!
