Updates to the Invasive Species Guideline for Gardeners

Tickets – EHS Members Free | Non-members $10

In 2026, the Alberta Invasive Species council released an updated guideline for invasive species in the province. Many people have different perspectives on the concept of invasive species, but they play a huge role in our economy, the way our ecosystem functions, and the cultural or ceremonial practices of Indigenous peoples across North America.

Spent a thoughtful evening exploring the world of invasives with Fiona Spitzig, who leads the Invasive Species Outreach team at the city of Edmonton.

Come with your questions ready, and an open mind!
