Jacob Marchel – Secretary

a public service lawyer by profession,

Carolyn Bissonette – Treasurer

I’m excited to be in the role of Treasurer for the Edmonton Horticultural Society and contribute to the great work being done in our community. As an avid gardener, I have a deep passion for growing my own food and believe in the many benefits of homegrown food—freshness, sustainability, and the joy of harvesting what you’ve nurtured from seed to plate.

Beyond my love for gardening, I love to travel, I have a young family that keeps me busy, and I also run a business alongside my husband. Balancing family life, work, and community involvement is something that is important to me, and I look forward to bringing dedication and enthusiasm to my role as Treasurer. I’m eager to support the Edmonton Horticultural Society in its mission and assist the organizations efforts within the community.

Patti Daye – Director at Large

Patti Daye

Patti is a happy old retired lady who has taken on gardening with a passion. Over the last 20+ years, she has transformed a low maintenance property into a high maintenance property, adding garden beds to reduce the amount of lawn her husband has to cut.  She completed her Master Gardener last year through Dalhousie University and is an MCR (Master Composter/Recycler) through the City of Edmonton. Her backyard is a Certified Wildlife Friendly Habitat. Despite all these fancy labels, she constantly buys plants that have no chance of success and prefers to call them “experiments”.
