Edmonton’s Urban Farm: 10 years in and still exploring the possibilities!
The Edmonton Urban Farm launched in 2014 as an economic and educational model of urban agriculture. A single commercial grower produced lettuce on a 1-acre plot, while 200 students toured the operation. Ten years later, the Urban Farm is gardened by 22 different groups and hosts 10,000 visitors yearly. It is a unique place whose evolution has something to tell us about where urban agriculture in Edmonton might be headed.
Time: Doors at 6:30, Speaker at 7pm. Arrive between 6:15pm and 6:30pm to receive a tour of the EHS’s zoo gardens.
Free for members and $10 for non-members.
